A-Book-A-Day Summer 2017

A-Book-A-Day Summer 2017

I first saw this on the blog by Readerbuzz and I knew I had to try it.

This wonderful idea came from Donalyn Miller! Here is my favorite quote from her blog: It doesn’t matter if you actually read a book every day or not. Dedicate more time to read. Celebrate your right to read what you want. Make reading plans. Share and collect book recommendations. Connect with other readers. The #bookaday challenge is personal, not a competition. Finish that series. Tackle that epic historical your mother gave you for your birthday (last September). Try audiobooks. How would you like to grow as a reader this summer?

I am challenging myself, my friends, my coworkers, and my students to read a book a day this summer! It’s an average- so if you read more than one book a day, but you don’t read one the next, it counts!

You can read a variety of books:

  • picture books
  • chapter books
  • audiobooks
  • Poetry
  • nonfiction
  • fiction

You set your start and end dates!

Keep a list of your books and post on some social media site-your blog, twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc with the hashtag #bookaday!

Comment below if you are trying to accomplish this crazy summer goal and we can keep each other motivated I’ll be posting here on my blog, Instagram (mrs_bookdragon), and Twitter (Mrs_Ennis_OMS.
