First Line Friday #7

Weekly Blog Post: First Line Friday

Grab the book you are currently reading, flip to the first page, and share the first sentence or paragraph.

I am currently reading Voyage of the Dawn Treader by CS Lewis. This is book 5 (or 4 depending on the order you read the books) in the Chronicles of Narnia series. This is the book that I remember being my favorite of the series, but it has been so long since I have read them, I could not tell you why. Do you have books that are in your mind as a favorite, but you really do not know why?

Here are the first few lines:

There was a boy called Eustace Clarence Scrubb, and he almost deserved it. His parents called him Eustace Clarence and masters called him Scrubb. I can’t tell you how his friends spoke to him, for he had none.

Please share your first line!

Happy reading.
