Reflection Is Key To Success

I am halfway through my fifth year of teaching! As I look back at where I started five years ago, I realize that I have grown so much as a teacher and as a human being. I have learned so much about myself and how to treat others. I am more confident in myself. I am not as hard on myself (but I am still pretty tough at times). I relax more with my students, yet at the same time, feel as if I am doing so much with them. I get to know my students more. I have fun.

Last year, I began this blog as a way to reach my students and their reading. I wanted to show them my thoughts, give them ideas on books, and display to them a way to talk about books through a blog. However, after a year and a half, I have decided to expand this blog to include my journey as a teacher. I plan to share lessons, projects, and activities. I also plan to interview my students and share their thoughts on the happenings of our class. I want to give my parents a better glimpse into the classroom, but also other teachers. I want to reach out to others in the education field for advice and feedback. It is all about growth in education; a teacher never stops learning. I am here to learn and share.

Thank you for following my blog. If you are here as a reader, I hope you do not tire of my teaching posts. I appreciate all of my followers and I struggled with creating a separate blog for teaching. However, I decided managing two would not work for me. I have changed the menu navigation at the top, so that will hopefully help you choose what you would like to read.

Thank you!
