National Poetry Month April 2018

National Poetry Month April 2018

Happy National Poetry Month!

I have looked forward to this for quite awhile. I love my poetry unit I do with my students in October, but April is very different. Maybe it is because we focus on the poems “for fun,” maybe because there is not a test after the end of the month, maybe it is because it is the end of the school year and our attitudes and minds have changed, and maybe it is a combination of all of the above.

When I went on Twitter today, I became motivated to create a bullet journal specifically for poetry. I am focusing on National Poetry Month, but who knows, maybe I will keep writing! I am using this journal as a way to share my thoughts with my students and for me to have as a resource to use in the future.

How are you celebrating National Poetry Day? Will you read some poetry or write it?
