It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

ICMWAYR

It was my first full week back to school and I thought I would not read as much, but I ended up reading quite a bit!

Here are the books I finished last week:

Coraline by Gaiman totally spooked me. The illustrations were well done and I think my students who love scary books would love this one. Especially the graphic novel edition.

The collection of Poe stories was also really good. It is a great way to introduce Poe and his spooky stories and could help comprehension when reading the actual poetry or prose. The illustrations were also very creepy, some bloody, so reader beware.

Bubbles by Abby Cooper was a great book to read after those two scary ones! It was serious, yet humorous and very honest about our inner struggles and mental health. This is a wonderful book to show the worries that we all face, but that really take hold during those middle school years. I really enjoyed it.

What am I currently reading?

I am trying to finish two ARCs:

I am also reading a professional book about teaching reading. This is a must read for teachers and possibly parents.

Finally, I am reading this book to my daughter. It is a sequel to Wild Robot and she loves following Roz and Brightbill on their journey. We hope to finish it this week.

What are you reading this week? I hope it’s a week of reading for you.
