“The main thing is to be moved, to love, to hope, to tremble, to live.”-Auguste Rodin

This quote means several things for me. I think it means to live in the moment. To do what you love and what moves you. Don’t just go through the motions of life, but love, hope, and live. Everything you do should excite you and make you feel alive.

I know that this is why I love to teach. I love doing something new every day, having to figure something out when a lesson doesn’t work, problem solving, and always thinking on my feet. I love seeing my students faces light up when they talk to me-sometimes about a book, their weekend, or something they did well in. I love to build relationships with these kids-I call them kids because they are like my kids, even though they are quickly approaching the teenage years and probably hate being called a kid.

I also think this quote applies to my life as a mother. I love watching my daughter’s excitement, her love for new things, and the joy that every moment brings to her. I try my best to focus on her and enjoy each moment. I hope for her so much-her future and all I know she can do.
