My Thoughts While Reading

• Can we talk about the cover and the title first? I mean, look at how confident and powerful the character looks. Also, I love the use of the word FIERCE. I am already empowered.
• The dinosaur pajamas…my daughter is all about dinosaurs and that illustration just made me smile.
• I love that the words are more “fantasy” in style yet the pictures are showing the real side of her words. The metaphors with the words and pictures would make for a great discussion.
• A writing prompt: Have students write their own version for middle school life.

This book is MUST READ for my classroom Bookaday. I mean…seriously. We must all read this book because
