IMWAYR and Reviews

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? #IMWAYR is a weekly blog hop co-hosted by Unleashing Readers and Teach Mentor Texts which focuses on sharing books marketed for children and young adults. It offers opportunities to share and recommend books with each other. Make sure to visit these blogs (and those linked in their posts) to find new books and new friends.

(The original IMWAYR, with an adult literature focus, was started by Sheila at Book Journeys and is now hosted by Kathryn at The Book Date.)

Below is a list of the books I read this past week and my thoughts. Thanks for stopping by!

The Girl from the Well (The Girl from the Well, #1)The Girl from the Well by Rin Chupeco
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am so happy I discovered a new horror author-Rin Chupeco! Absolutely great storytelling and characters with just enough spookiness to keep me on the edge of my seat! I enjoyed the audiobook.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A wonderful sequel to All of Us Villains. It is a long book, and took me awhile to read but honestly only because I was savoring it. I love this world and the characters so much. I hope there is more because I really need it to continue!

Invisible Storm: A Soldier’s Memoir of Politics and PTSDInvisible Storm: A Soldier’s Memoir of Politics and PTSD by Jason Kander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A great story of how PTSD impacts soldiers and I enjoyed Jason’s storytelling. It was a quick read. I also really liked Diane’s letters throughout to provide that perspective.

Reading Challenges

I am not doing so hot on my fall reading challenge with BitsAboutBooks! However, I am currently reading 3 of these books and 1 other is on my option pile. So, I should hopefully get half of them read before the 20th? Maybe??? I am honestly so terrible at challenges.

The Bluest Sky sounds like a great read. I expect The Girl from the Well is too, but I am not a reader of horror – or anything very scary at all. Invisible Storm sounds like an important book. It irritates me immensely that we send people off to war, but don’t take care of them when they return home damaged.

Invisible Storm book will make you so angry about PTSD and the stigma behind it! Thanks for visiting my blog!
