Halfway to Harmony by Barbara O’Connor

Halfway to Harmony by Barbara O’Connor

Recently finished Barbara O’Connor’s 2021 release Halfway to Harmony. Thank you NetGalley and Farrar, Straus, and Giroux for sharing an eARC with me! How to Steal a Dog is one of my favorite books, and so I was very excited to hear Barbara had a new book out! I loved this book and the language, the energy, the humor and how it all surrounded this hard topic of grief. It also ALMOST made me want to fly in a hot air balloon. Almost. 😬

What stood out the most for me in this book was Barbara’s word choice. Here is a collection of my favorites!

Barbara’s books are perfect for any age, but are especially valuable to emerging middle grade readers who need a book that gets to the excitement quickly, holds your attention, and are shorter in length. The characters are also strong and show great growth in the stories.

Have you read this book yet? If not, put it on your list! You can purchase at your local indie, at Barbara’s website, or at Bookshop.org.
