IMWAYR: Oct 2-8

Welcome back to another It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? Post! Make sure to visit the IMWAYR hosts Unleashing Readers and Teach Mentor Texts to find other blogs to follow that use this weekly wrap up.

Before getting into my books, here’s a reminder that I have many other ways to access my content:

So in terms of books…not much was read this past week. My routines after work are different and the only times I have been reading is right before bed. And then…I am so tired I fall asleep after 5 pages!

I am making it a goal this week to be a little more creative with my reading time. We shall see!

Another problem with my reading is that I am ALL OVER THE PLACE in what I want to read. I want to read Banned Books for Banned Book Week/Month. I want to read the books for CYBILS awards. I want to read books created by Indigenous peoples. I want to read spooky books. So. Much. I. Want. You’ll see in my Option Pile…it’s a lot of options!

Alright, here we go!

The ONE book I read last week! 🙁 But it was a fantastic one.

Felix Ever AfterFelix Ever After by Kacen Callender
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book had so much packed into it! I absolutely loved the romance and the journey towards it. It was so stinking cute. It also had a powerful portrayal of gender identity and identity in general. This was all done in such a positive light too. There is quite a bit of pot, drinking, and sexual references so it’s a little on the mature side of young adult.
