I’m a day late, but here we go!

Reading has been slower, but the books I am reading are all really great. I am gearing up for 2 months of reading Young Adult Speculative Fiction for Cybils Awards and am really excited about the books on the list. They all look so good! I am not sure how I will narrow down…

Books I Finished

I listened to the audiobook of The Alchemy of Moonlight by David Ferraro. Although it didn’t completely blow me away, it was a surprising horror read (thought it was fantasy) and had a good romance going on. I enjoyed the mystery and the setting-it was so dark and stunning.

I was intrigued by the cover and the title, but honestly wasn’t blown away. I did keep reading and wanted to know how it would all play out, but it just didn’t hit like a must read. It was entertaining, scary, definitely good horror moments, just not a MUST read for me. Would recommend for horror YA readers!

I reread The Ballad of Never After by Stephanie Garber to prepare for A Curse for True Love and GOODNESS. This second book is my favorite I think! Soooo good. If you haven’t read this series, I highly recommend. It’s YA, romance with no spice, and so many twists. The vibes are just great too. The fairytale elements are so captivating. Please read it!

THIS BOOK had me in its grasp and wouldn’t let me go. I devoured it and the ending…be ready. Definitely the best book of the 3.

Hopefuls

The books I hope to read are many! I have 3 books for Cybils to read and of course…IRON FLAME. I wanted to finish Curse for True Love (which I did) and then thought I would reread Fourth Wing but….I think I’ll just dive in. It’s one of those books that I want to be perfect timing ya know? It’s like I am reluctant to pick up until I know I can devote tons of time to it at once, but that’s just not my life right now. So, I need to dive in.
